Bespoke Victorian Freestanding Greenhouse

Inspired by the Great Victorian Glasshouses

The ‘Victorian’ is our highest specification greenhouse and is designed to replicate the great glasshouses of the nineteenth century constructed by the likes of Thomas Messenger and Foster & Pearson.

The materials used are the same as our Edwardian specification, but the Victorian framework is made from a larger set of timber sections. These profiles are subject to additional machining to achieve the ornate look associated with the era. Obvious distinguishing features include large timber rafters and mullions which create the classic portal framed structure. Internally, cast aluminium eaves and ridge brackets add further to the period look.

Every one of our Victorian glasshouses is a unique structure, either designed from scratch, or to succeed an older building. The process often begins with an initial estimate, which we will provide without obligation, based on the approximate dimensions required and any specific features which should be included.

Our Victorian specification is ideally suited for larger buildings where the heavier sections and substantial appearance are more in proportion to the overall structure
