For walls with limited height
When it’s necessary to site your greenhouse against a wall, but height is limited, we can often specify a ¾ span greenhouse to create more headroom and increase growing space. This type of design can also be used catch more sunlight from a secluded area or simply to add some aesthetic interest to the greenhouse.
If the wall in question is flat and level on top, and of a suitable height, we can land the short slope of the roof on top of the wall. This works best if you own the land behind the wall as there will be a gutter overhanging slightly to collect rainwater.
When the height restriction is created by some other feature like an unusual coping, window or significant overhang, we would use a valley section and a lead flashing to collect rainwater from the short slope and provide a fixing point for the greenhouse without interrupting anything above.
