Bespoke Edwardian 3/4 span lean-to Greenhouse
A Lean-to GREENHOUSE for low walls
We call this type of greenhouse ‘mono-pitch’ because it has a single slope of glass from the eaves to the ridge. Many period glasshouses were based on this classic design and, providing there is sufficient height available, this is the simplest way of utilising a house or boundary wall for a lean-to greenhouse.
When considering a mono-pitch lean-to we look at how much height is available and how wide the span will be from the back wall. These two factors can limit the angle of the roof and how much headroom there is inside.

STRONG, SECURE & PRACTICAL
Smart Attachment with Built-in Drainage
The box section provides a strong fixing point against the side of the wall and contains a gutter to collect rainwater from the short slope of the greenhouse roof. Because the height is flexible the greenhouse can be designed to avoid doors, windows or other features like an overhang or coping stones.
Edwardian 3/4 span lean-to:
• Maximum width 4m
(for a wider span see our ‘Victorian’ spec)
• Length along the wall is not limited
• Ideal for rear walls under 2.5m
• Valley gutter or ‘on-wall’ connection types -

TAILORED TO YOUR LOW WALL
Fixing Over the Wall, Not Against It
If the wall in question has a flat and level top surface the short slope of the roof can be fixed over it – so the green-house is sitting on top of the wall, rather than against the side of it. The gutter will be overhanging the far side so if you do not own the land behind the wall you will need to consider whether this might be an issue.
For a low rear wall (under 1.8m) (like 906), the ‘on-wall’ junction is necessary, as there is not enough height for a valley gutter connection.
