Bespoke Edwardian 3/4 span lean-to Greenhouse with porch
A Lean-To GREENHOUSE with Side Entry
When a lean-to is required with the door in the long side a popular and attractive solution is to combine the 3/4 span design with a porch entrance. A porch feature is not normally used on the shallower mono-pitch design, so if you want a lean-to with a porch it will need to be 3/4 span.
As already described, the porch can be a simple dormer retaining the rectangular footprint of the main greenhouse or a full porch with glazed sides, perhaps with double doors, adding a little more drama as well as offering greater flexibility with internal space.

Where to place your greenhouse door
The junction may also be between the gable end of a greenhouse and the wall against which it is fixed. A porch or dormer roof feature can allow for a door in the long side, or alternatively, the entrance can be positioned within the glazed gable.
For a low rear wall (under 1.8m) (like 906), the ‘on-wall’ junction is necessary, as there is not enough height for a valley gutter connection.
